Under the title of Seven Views, Iran’s third expo of visual arts will be returning on February 19 to the Pardis Gallery at Tehran’s Mellat Park.
Warmly received by over 220 artists, the third expo is opening after a one-year hiatus.
The Aria, Elaheh, Dey, Golestan, Haft Samar, Vali, and Mah-e Mehr galleries are the seven galleries managing the show in which 223 artists will be displaying their paintings, sculptures, calligraphy works, calligraphy-paintings, and several other types of artwork.
As in previous editions, veteran and novice artists will be displaying their works for sale at reasonable prices, in hopes that every Iranian hangs a Persian artwork in his home some day.
Works by Ahmad Nadalian, Mohammad Ehsaii, Aidin Aghdashlu, Farah Osuli, Mansureh Hosseini, Yadollah Kaboli, and Parviz Kalantari are seen among the participants.
Organizers hope to influence the visual art market. They have also tried to recognize and introduce the country’s young talented artists at the third expo which will continue until March 5.
The second expo that displayed works by the giants of Iranian visual arts sold 180 artworks with revenue of approximately $300,000 in 2008.
