UNESCO records Persian (Iranian) Gardens among International Inheritances

The file of Iranian Gardens will be recorded at UNESCO’s 35th assembly.

In an interview with Fars’ reporter, the deputy of the department of maintenance and restoration of historical monuments of the Tourism and Cultural Inheritance Organization of the county, Seyed Massud Alavian,  referring to our country’s annual two shares in recording list of international cultural inheritance at UNESCO said: In this 35th assembly a natural inheritance and a historical monument were introduced for recording.

Pointing out to the fact that there are 42 natural and historical monuments from 40 different countries of the world to be investigated for recording in the list of international inheritance during this coming assembly, he added: The file of Iranian Gardens will be recorded.

The deputy of the department of maintenance and restoration of historical monuments of the Tourism and Cultural Inheritance Organization of the county also remarked, that preparation of this file took one and half years, introducing nine gardens from seven provinces of the country which include: Eram Garden in Shiraz, Abbasabad Garden in Behshahr, Fin Garden in Kashan, Chehel Sotoun Garden in Esfahan, Shahzadeh Ma’ha’n Garden in Kerman, Pasargade Garden, Pahlavan Pour and Dolatabad Gardens in Yazd and Akbarieyeh in Birjand.
