The 43rd edition of Basel Art Show opens on 14 June 2012, with the participation of 300 galleries and art centers from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
65,000 people attended Art Basel in 2011, the last edition of this favorite rendezvous for the global artworld, including art collectors, art dealers, artists, curators and other art enthusiasts.
The town of Basel is located where the Swiss, French and German borders meet, and it`s strategic location has made this art show, one of the most important contemporary artistic events in the European continent.
In the Scope section, works of Iranian artists are to be displayed by European and Mid- eastern galleries.
Sadegh Tirafkan, Rokni Haerizadeh, Reza Derakhshani, Habib Farajabadi, Ozra Haghighi Bakhshayesh, Hadieh Shafiee and Shirin Neshat are among the most notable Iranian artists whose works are to be displayed in the Scope category.
The 43rd edition of “Art Basel” runs until 17 June 2012.
