Iranian photographer Majid Saeedi the winner of many international awards, is nominated for the 2012 edition of Robert F. Kennedy Institute awards. The awards are known as the "poor people's Pulitzers" in media circles
.
Winners are judged by more than 50 journalists each year, led by a committee of six independent journalists.
The awards honor reporting "on different issues, including human rights, social justice and the power of individual action in the world.
Entries include insights into the causes, conditions and remedies of injustice and critical analysis of relevant public policies, programs, attitudes and private endeavors.
Majid Saeedi with more than 20 years of experience in the field of photo journalism, has been awarded the UNICEF Prize in 2010 and the New Prize in USA 2011 and he has already worked as a photographer for Time Magazine and is actually working for Getty Images Agency in Afghanistan.
