Works by Iranian artists at Opera Gallery`s 1st Middle East auction

Opera Gallery plans to hold its first sale in the Middle East with a focus on contemporary Iranian and international modern art. The event will take place on October 22 at Ritz Carlton DIFC in Dubai, UAE.

Curated by Vida Zaim and Leila Varasteh, and  supported by Millon Auction House in Paris, the auction will embrace a range of periods and artistic disciplines featuring some 140 pieces, including works by Renoir, Picasso, Dali, Kapoor and Hirst and a selection of artists from Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and South East Asia.

European highlights will include works by Renoir, Monet, Picasso, Van Dongen, Dufy, Kisling, Dali, Dubuffet, Botero, Arman, Anish Kapour and Damien Hirst.

The auction will also present works by Iranian modern artists such as Farhad Moshiri, Koorosh Shishegaran, Reza Derakshani, Mohammed Ehsai. Sohrab Sepehri, Parviz Tanavoli, Hossein Kazemi, Behjat Sadr, Kourosh Shishegaran, Sirak Milkonian, Bahman Jalali, Mohsen Vaziri Moghaddam, Mohammad Ehsaie, Jafar Roohbakhsh. and works by contemporary Iranian artists such as Shadi Ghadirian, Ahmad Morshedloo, Leila Kharazi, Farhad Moshiri, Parviz Tanavoli, Sadegh Tabrizi, Farah Ossouli, Nasrollah Afjehee, Alireza Fani, Massoud Arabshahi, Farideh Lashaireza Derakhshani, Golnaz Fathi, Khosorw Hasaanzadeh, Reza Bangiz, Afshin Pirhashemi, Einoddin Sadeghzadeh, Alireza Astaneh, Farnaz Rabieejah, Samira Alikhanzadeh, Naeemeh Kazemi, Roshanak Varasteh, Mehrdad Shoghi Bob Far, Alireza Fani, Mohammad Bozorgi, Babak Rashvand, Arash Nazari, Parastoo Foroohar, Mehdi Nabavi, Mohammad Sarreshteh, Farzaneh Hosseini, Ghodratolah Agheli, Ahmad Mohammadpour, Bijan Sayfouri, Mohammad Mahdi Yaghoibzadeh and Assal Fallah.

The pieces have been assembled from around the world, both from within the Opera Gallery network and private collectors, with the objective of offering something for everyone; works of art to fall in love with, to add to a growing art collection or simply beautiful investments for the future.

Organized by Gilles Dyan the director of all 13 branches of Opera gallery, the sale will be held at The Ritz Carlton, DIFC, Dubai on 22 October at 7pm, with viewings taking place from 18 October 2012.
